Setting Up Your Account


How do I create an account?

Click on the Create New Account link on the top right corner of the site. You can easily register with your email or with Facebook.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, follow these steps below:

  1. Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear.
  2. Click on Profile.
  3. Then select Change Password on the left menu.
  4. In the Password section, enter and re-enter a new password and click Save.

I forgot my password.

If you've forgotten your password visit click here. Enter the email address you use for SnobSwap and you'll be emailed a link to reset your password. You can also email us at contact@snobswap.com for help.

How do I edit my profile?

  1. Click on your username and a dropdown will appear.
  2. Click on Profile. From here you can update all your profile information including:
    • Email Address
    • Password
    • Profile Picture
    • Contact Information
    • Addresses
    • Measurements
    • Emails Preferences

How do I cancel my account?

Should you decide you'd like to cancel your SnobSwap account, email us at contact@snobswap.com.

I am going on vacation, how do I put my account on hold?

Please let us know the dates you'd like to put your account on hold by emailing contact@snobswap.com.

Buying


What is the difference between Buy Now and Make an Offer?

Buy Now

Purchase the item for the fixed sale price. For Buy Now items, you can add the item to your shopping cart and check out multiple items at once with your credit card.

Make an Offer

Seller is willing to accept cash offers for the item listed. Make your best offer and wait for the seller to accept, counter offer or reject. When your offer has been accepted, the item is automatically added to your cart and you are required to check out in 48 hours.

How do I make an offer?

Many sellers are open to cash offers on their items. You will see a Make Offer button on the listing page if the item is open to offers. To make an offer:

  1. Click on the Make Offer button.
  2. Enter in the offer amount.
  3. Click on Submit. The seller has 48 hours to accept, decline or make a counter offer. If your offer is accepted, the item is added to your cart and you will receive an email to check out within 48 hours. We do not place items on hold. If the seller accepts your offer and you have not checked out, the item may be purchased by someone else at this price during the 48 hours.
  4. If your offer is accepted, you are required to make payment within 48 hours. Failure to pay an accepted offer is unfair to the seller and may result in your removal on the platform.
  5. If the seller doesn't respond to your offer within 48 hours, the offer is cancelled.

How do I edit my payment information?

To make a change to your payment information:

  1. Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear.
  2. Select Account.
  3. Click on Payment Methods. If you are adding a new PayPal account, you will be taken to www.paypal.com to verify your account.

Which forms of payment methods does SnobSwap accept?

We accept PayPal, Affirm and credit cards including VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

How does Affirm work?

Affirm is a financing alternative to credit cards and other credit payment products. Affirm offers instant financing for purchases online. With Affirm, you can buy and receive your purchase now, and pay for it in fixed monthly installments over the course of 3, 6 or 12 months. To use Affirm at checkout:

  1. Select Pay with Affirm at checkout.
  2. Affirm will ask you for some information including your name, email, mobile phone number, date of birth, and the last four digits of your social security number. To ensure that you're the person making the purchase, Affirm will send a text message to your cell phone with a unique authorization code.
  3. Enter the authorization code into the application form. Within seconds, Affirm will notify you of the loan amount you're approved for, the interest rate, and the number of months you will have to pay off your loan. You will have the option to choose to pay off your loan over three, six, or twelve months. Affirm will also state the amount of your fixed, monthly payments and the total amount of interest you'll pay over the course of the loan.
  4. If you would like to accept Affirm's financing offer, click "Confirm Loan" and voila! You're in. Going forward, you'll get monthly email and SMS reminders about your upcoming payments. You can also set up autopay to avoid missing a payment. Your first monthly payment will be due 30 days from the date we the merchant complete processing your order.

Why do I have balance in my account?

If you sold an item that the buyer purchased via credit card, this earning will show up as an available balance which will be applied to your next purchase on SnobSwap. Earnings applied to purchases will be deducted from your Sold account. To check your earnings, go to Account > Manage.

How do I view my Wish List?

Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear, select on Wish List.

How does shipping work?

Shipping is available in the United States, Canada, and most international countries. P.O. Boxes and APO/FPO addresses are not accepted. International buyers are responsible for all taxes, import duties, customs duties, and shipping fees. International shipping incurs an additional charge of $35 to Canada and $65 to all other countries. All international sales are final are not eligible for return.

Additionally, specific countries prohibit importation of items made with exotic materials.

Is SnobSwap international?

SnobSwap is available to the United States, Canada, and most international countries. Shipping to Canada is an additional fee of $35 and shipping to all other countries is a fee of $65. International buyers are responsible for all taxes, import duties, customs duties, and shipping fees. Please contact us if you have any questions.

How do I receive alerts of items I'm on the hunt for?

There are two ways to save your search to receive alerts when the item you want is listed:

  1. You can either enter your search info and click on Save Search button.
  2. Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear.
  3. Click on Saved Search. Enter in the details of your search.
  4. Click Save.

How do I contact the seller?

To contact the seller:

  1. Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear.
  2. Click on Your Purchases.
  3. Locate the sale.
  4. Click on the Message button.

You can also message the seller via Your Messages. Click on the message icon. You can start a new message and enter the member's username.

What happens if I did not receive my item or my item was misrepresented?

If you have not received an item or if the item was misrepresented, please reach out to us at contact@snobswap.com within 3 days of delivery. See the Returns section for more information.

Buyer Protection


What is SnobSwap Buyer Protection?

All purchases are securely processed. Your information will never be shared. For credit card orders, your payment is safely held until the item is delivered to you. Email us at contact@snobswap.com within 72 hours of delivery if there is a problem with the order.

Cancellations & Returns

  1. If an item you purchased has not shipped and the handling time has passed, you may cancel the order.
  2. If your item is not as described, you will receive a full refund once the item is returned. Please contact us within 3 days of delivery of your order to request a refund and receive a return shipping label. PayPal purchases are covered by PayPal's Buyer Protection.
  3. If your item was purchased from a Store Partner, you can request a return within 3 days of delivery. Please contact us to receive a return shipping label. Security tags must be in tact in order for a return to be accepted.

What is your Return Policy?

Doesn't fit? Don't worry a bit! Returns in exchange for shopping credit is available for clothing and shoe purchases made from our Boutique Partners. To qualify for a return, a Returns Request Form must be filled out within 3 days of delivery of your item and the item must be received by SnobSwap within 14 days of receiving your free return shipping label. All security tags must be in tact!

For private sellers, please review the seller's return policy for your item before you check out. All final sale items, fine jewelry, accessories, handbags, swimwear, and international purchases are not eligible for returns.

How do I request a return?

To return an item, fill out the Returns Request Form or email contact@snobswap.com within 3 days of delivery of your item. You may also call us at 888.747.0969. See below for guidelines of our return policy:

  • Returns will be reviewed and approved/disapproved by SnobSwap's Customer Care. The item must be returned in the same condition as it was listed with the security tag intact. If the security tag is not intact, damaged, or is missing, we cannot accept a return.
  • You will receive a free return shipping label after your Returns Request Form is complete and the request is approved.
  • Returns must arrive back to SnobSwap within 14 days of receiving your free return shipping label.
  • Once the item is received by Customer Care and approved, the order will be cancelled and your account will be credited the total amount of your purchase minus a 10% restocking fee (which will not be more than $50). The original shipping cost is non-refundable.
  • You will receive SnobSwap shopping credit less the restocking fee for your order after the item is returned to SnobSwap within 14 days.

As noted above, all final sale items, jewelry, accessories, handbags, swimwear, and international purchases are not eligible for returns.

Can I get a refund for an item that is misrepresented?

You will be eligible for a full refund if the item is deemed not as described. If you believe the item you purchased was misrepresented, please contact us immediately and within 3 days of delivery at contact@snobswap.com to start a claim. We are always here to help!

  1. Item Not Received:
    • Please contact us and we'll be happy to check on the status of the order.
    • If the order has not shipped and the handling time has passed, the order can be cancelled and you will be refunded.
  2. Item Not as Described:
    • Please contact us via email, phone, or the Help button within 3 days of delivery of your item to request a refund.
    • Your payment will be safely held until 3 days after delivery, so if we do not hear from you by then, the seller's payment will be released.
    • Please include your Order Number and a description of the issue in your email.
    • Your claim will be reviewed by our Customer Care team. If the item is indeed not as described, the order will be cancelled once the seller or SnobSwap has received the item. You will be refunded once the item has been confirmed as received. You will receive a free return shipping label to return the item to the seller.
    • If you question the authenticity of an item, our authenticators will work with independent expert authenticators to review the item. If the item is found to be non-authentic, you will receive a full refund. Sellers of counterfeit items will be shut down immediately and reported to legal authorities.

Selling


What can I sell?

  • SnobSwap only accepts designer brands only. Check out our list of accepted Designer Brands here.
  • You can sell apparel, handbags, shoes, and accessories.
  • Items must be authentic, clean, odor-free, and in good condition.
  • We have a zero tolerance policy for fakes. See our Authenticity Policy.

How do I list an item?

Listing is free!

  1. To join SnobSwap's community of the best resale boutiques and vetted professional sellers, please apply here. Sorry, we do not accept individual sellers anymore even though we love you.
  2. Once your store is approved, fill in the details of your item.
    1. Include an enticing title of the item and provide an accurate description, making sure to include details such as measurements, fabric, defects and unique features you want the buyer to know.
    2. Indicate the condition of your item:
      • New: Brand new with tags in original packaging
      • Like New: Looks new, excellent condition, used or worn only a few times
      • Gently Loved: Looks gently used but still in good condition
      • Well Worn: Has noticeable signs of wear and tear such as faded color or frayed edges
    3. To avoid disappointments, please disclose any repairs your item may need and post pictures of any blemishes. Please refrain from posting items that are severely stained or need repairs.
    4. SKU number is not required but can come in handy if you are a business listing many items. In this case, you can enter the SKU number into the reference number field.
  3. Upload clear photos of your item.
  4. Choose the types of offers you would like to accept. TIP: Selecting all types of sell options will increase your chances of selling.
    • BUY NOW to sell your item at a fixed price. Our Price Suggestor will also suggest a price based on brand, category and condition.
    • CASH OFFER to receive offers from buyers. You can counter offer too.
  5. Set your shipping costs and return policy.
  6. Set up your seller profile to be able to cash out your earnings.
  7. Click Preview to review the listing. You can also select Save if you would like to post your item later.
  8. If you are satisfied, click Post.
  9. We'll review your listing for authentication and even clean your photos! Under Check My Account, you can review your Active Listings. Listings typically become approved and active within 72 hours after posting. Please note that the process may be delayed if we need to request additional photos for authentication.

How do I make my listing better?

Accurate descriptions

Include details you would like to know if you were buying the item such as dimensions of a bag. Disclose even the slightest damage or wear to avoid disappointments. Please refrain from posting items that you would be embarrassed to trade with a friend.

Be descriptive

Provide a descriptive title by including the type of item, brand, size, and color to allow our search engine to pick up your item when members run their searches. For example, CHANEL Large Jumbo Black Caviar Leather Purse! Think about what words you would use if you were searching for your item. If the item is new or new with tags, please also include that in your title.

Price to Sell

Increase your chances of selling your pre-loved item, we suggest a listing price that is 70% off the purchase price. Our price suggestor will also suggest a price during the listing process. See below for more details.

Take GREAT photos

Use clear, close-up photos of your item against a white background in natural light so members can see important details. Please post a minimum of 4 photos. The more photos, the more likely a shopper will buy your item. You can post as many photos as you like. Please contact us for photo tips and guidelines.

Ship it

Shipping within your promised handling time or earlier will keep you in good standing with other members. We highly encourage shipping within 1-3 days. After a sale is confirmed by you and processed, you will receive your buyer's shipping information. You can enter in your tracking number here to update your account. Once you enter your tracking number, your buyer will be notified.

Communication is key

Be responsive to questions. Be as pleasant and polite as you would want to be treated.

How much should I sell my item for?

For the best chances of selling your pre-loved item, a general rule of thumb we suggest is a listing price that is 70% off the purchase price. If the item is new with tags, a good start is to list it for 50% of the retail price. There are a few exceptions to this rule, for certain items such as a classic Chanel 2.55 Flap handbag or Hermès Birkin bag. Our price suggestor will also suggest a price during the listing process. How much does it cost to sell?

It is FREE to list your items! We take a seller's fee when your item sells.

How do cash offers work?

Increase your chances of selling by allowing buyers a chance to negotiate a price with you. Each offer is valid for {{ \Snobswap\Offer::EXPIRATION_HOURS }} hours.

After you receive an offer, you can choose to:

  1. Accept the offer and end the listing. If you and your buyer agree to an accepted offer price, the buyer has {{ \Snobswap\Offer::EXPIRATION_HOURS }} hours to check out at that price. We do not place items on hold. If an offer is accepted, it may be purchased by someone else at this price during the {{ \Snobswap\Offer::EXPIRATION_HOURS }} hours.
  2. Counter offer and negotiate with the buyer.
  3. Decline the offer.

What happens if the buyer doesn't pay after accepting the offer price?

If an offer is accepted, the buyer has 48 hours to check out. Since we do not place items on hold, it may be purchased by someone else at this price during the {{ \Snobswap\Offer::EXPIRATION_HOURS }} hours.

After 48 hours, if the buyer does not pay, sellers are able to review the buyer.

How do I get my listing approved?

To check the status of your listing:

  1. Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear.
  2. Click on Your Listings to view listing status.

How do I view or edit my listings?

View a listing

  1. Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear.
  2. Click on Your Listings.
  3. Click on Active to view all your active listings.

Edit an active listing

  1. Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear.
  2. Click on Your Listings.
  3. To edit a listing, go to Active and click Edit. You will be taken through the steps of the listing process to edit what you wish.
  4. When you are satisfied with the changes, click Post to post the updated listing.

Edit a draft listing

  1. Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear.
  2. Click on Your Listings.
  3. To edit a draft listing, click on Draft and click Edit. You will be taken through the steps of the listing process to edit what you wish.
  4. When you are satisfied with the changes, click Post to submit for approval.

Move an active listing to draft

  1. Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear.
  2. Click on Your Listings.
  3. To edit a listing, go to Active.
  4. Click List Later to move it into your draft listings. This will save the listing in the Drafts folder for editing.

How do I view my sold items?

  1. Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear.
  2. Click on Your Sales. You can view all sales. You can also sort the items by a time range, view details of the items, contact the buyer and enter in your tracking number when you ship the item.

What is a Verified Seller?

We created the Verified Seller process to keep this marketplace a trusted community of only the best sellers, which will give buyers confidence to shop with you. Verified Sellers will be identified in a member's profile with a Verified Seller badge.

How It Works

Verified Seller works by connecting your SnobSwap profile with Stripe, to verify your information. During this process, we will ask you for some basic information including date of birth, last 4 SSN / EIN, and address. Your information will never be shared - ever.

Your privacy and security are very important to us. During this process, your information securely encrypted and governed by our Privacy Policy.

How do I become a Verified Seller?

Verifying your identification helps keep this marketplace a trusted community. Rest assured, your information will not be shared or stored. Once you are verified, your profile will show that you are a trusted Verified Seller badge. Verifying your identification is necessary to set up your auto payouts, which are safely deposited to your bank account.

To become a Verified Seller, we just need some basic information including your first and last name, date of birth, last 4 SSN, and your address. In addition, for businesses, we require the business name and EIN. For auto payouts over $2,000, your full SSN is legally required for verification purposes with your bank for your protection.

I just received an Item Confirmation email, what happens next?

  1. Congrats! Do you still have this item? Click Yes or No in your Item Confirmation email.
  2. Once we hear from you, we'll review and process the order.
  3. If the order is approved, you will receive a Sale Confirmation email.
  4. Open the Sale Confirmation email to get your buyer's address. Print your shipping label with your preferred mail service. We recommend USPS, UPS, FedEx or ShipGooder.
    • Sellers must enter their tracking information so the buyer is updated and to cash out earnings. Enter your tracking information on Your Sales page here.
  5. Your earnings will be deposited to your bank account 72 hours after the item is tracked as delivered to your buyer. For preferred boutique partners, your earnings will be deposited after a shipping label and tracking number has been created. Please allow 1-3 business days for auto-deposit, depending on your financial institution.

How do I get paid?

View your Payouts

  1. Hover over your username and a dropdown will appear.
  2. Click on Account & Payout. For credit card orders, your earnings will be deposited to your bank account after the item is tracked as delivered to your buyer. Your earnings will be deposited after a tracking number is entered here. A $0.25 USD service charge will apply. You will still be able to track your sales and earnings on Account & Payout. For orders processed through Affirm or PayPal, please add your PayPal account here to be able to accept your earnings. PayPal charges a processing fee of 2% of the total price but no more than $1 to transfer your payout.

Deposit into your bank account

  • If a buyer pays for your item with a credit card, you will be credited with the sold amount less the seller's fee and the bank fee.
  • You will receive a sale confirmation by email with your buyer's shipping address. Please enter your tracking number.
  • Earnings will be automatically deposited 72 hours after the package is tracked as delivered. For preferred boutique partners, your earnings will be deposited after a tracking number is entered here.
  • Tip: Make sure you enter only in numbers for the Bank account fields.

Deposit into your PayPal account

  • For orders purchased by your buyer through Affirm or PayPal, you will need to connect your PayPal account to accept pay outs.
  • PayPal charges a processing fee of 2% of the total price but no more than $1 to transfer your payouts.

How do I cancel a sale?

  1. Contact the buyer. Contact the other member and explain the cancellation. Please allow the member 72 hours to respond. To contact the buyer:
    1. Hover over your username and a drop down will appear.
    2. Click on Your Sales.
    3. Locate the sale. Click on the Message button.
  2. Let us know. Please email contact@snobswap.com or click on the Help button.
    1. Please contact us immediately to cancel an order.
    2. Please include your Order Number and description of the problem in your email.
    3. Item may only be cancelled if seller agrees and item has not shipped.

How do I contact the Buyer?

To contact the buyer:

  1. Hover over your username and a drop down will appear.
  2. Click on Your Sales.
  3. Locate the sale. Click on the Message button.

What is SnobSwap Seller Protection?

Sell with confidence and certainty! We offer:

  • Customer Service: Our customer care team is here to handle any customer complaints, if any.
  • Secure Payment Processing System: Our team reviews each order with first-in-class technology to make sure your orders are safely processed.
  • No Chargeback Hassles: We fight chargebacks on behalf of our store partners, so long as:
    1. The sold item was as described.
    2. The shipping tracking number was provided online.
    3. The item was shipped to the address in the Orders Details page.
    4. The signature confirmation for items over $500 was secured upon delivery.
    5. The item was shipped within your specified handling time.
    6. The sold item as not picked up locally or in person.

To help us provide the highest level of protection, please respond promptly within seven days if we request documentation or relevant information.

Authenticity Policy


What is SnobSwap's authentication policy?

SnobSwap has a ZERO tolerance policy for fake or counterfeit items. We make sure that we get the stamp of approval of every item from our team of expert authenticators before the items are listed live on our site to provide our buyers protection and peace of mind. If our authenticity team discovers that a seller has a counterfeit item, we will reject and remove the listing without prior notification, terminate the seller's account, and notify legal authorities. Items purchased that are found to be non-authentic are fully refundable after review from a third party authenticator.
